This position is responsible for sourcing and developing new business, training and managing the sales network, adherence to the growth targets and initiatives determined annually with the President and Export Manager.
Candidate must be able to show past success in both consumer and business-to-business sales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate must possess good public speaking skills and successful experience in presentation development and delivery. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of sales and marketing methods. Must have experience in strategic marketing and budget planning and demonstrate past success in executing marketing initiatives and sales programs. Knowledge of and experience in the rehabilitation market desired.
Business development: Analyzes sales by region to determine where, when and how to build the sales rep network. Understand cost to benefit ratios in determining appropriate need. Analyze market trends and develop strategies to assist the reps with strategic approaches to industry trends. Quickly grasp the complex workings of healthcare reimbursement trends and policies in order to lead the company in developing effective strategies to overcome difficult obstacles. Develops rep group contracts and ensures the contract's compliance with company standards.
Sales Network management: Trains sales reps in the use of our products, sales techniques, appropriate clinical applications and in-service presentation development. Works with the sales reps within the territory to trouble shoot objections and assess regional competition. Acts as the main resource and contact between the sales reps and the company. Works with the sales reps in setting goals. Investigates regional obstacles and determines if special considerations must be granted within a specific territory. Reviews monthly commission reports to check for accuracy and glean for areas of weakness. Instigates corrective action when required.
Training and Education: Plans, writes and develops materials to educate sales reps, dealers and end users on the proper selection, use, and appropriate applications of our products. Writes articles and marketing content for internal and external publication as needed. Interprets market trends in order to lead the company's efforts to establish Thomashilfen as a trusted resource for pediatric mobility equipment and healthy sleep. Presents Thomashilfen products and concepts at industry events and meetings as needed.
Marketing: Works with the President, plans the annual marketing activities including trade shows, advertising, and sales trips. Provides continuing feedback and contributes ideas to the development of the company websites, newsletters, and blog. Actively participates in industry events in adherence with the annual plan. Travel for events and sales training as required.
Work flow and customer relationships: Reviews customer invoices on a daily basis (when in the office) to ensure accuracy and keep current on nationwide purchasing patterns. Answers customer calls as needed, especially those relating to complex reimbursement issues and clinical challenges. Meets with office team weekly or more often as required to communicate work plans, and schedules as they affect other departments. Works with the President and Operations Manager on special projects especially those related to sales, marketing and business development. Learns and acts as back up operator for the IFS order processing system, including quotes, order entry, and order tracking. Uses company CRM, Super Office, to and record customer conversations and understands Super Offices feedback into the IFS system.
